Ms. Rose’s TheraPlace is a therapist-owned, one of a kind, pediatric practice based in Rancho Cordova California. It was created out of the growing need to support children with varying degrees of special needs, especially those with invisible disabilities who "slip through the cracks". The TheraPlace is an experience provided through individualized treatment of children with different needs, and through educating and empowering the adults and caregivers involved in the development of children with special needs.

Summary:

Friendly, energetic candidate needed for growing medical specialty practice. We are seeking a reliable, pleasant, experienced individual to join our team to coordinate the care of our patients and perform administrative, clerical, and reception duties for the clinic. 

The ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service skills and medical insurance knowledge to include Medicare, HMO's and PPO's, referral processing, ICD-10 and CPT coding. 

This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week and will include Saturday morning hours, with the potential to grow to full-time.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Reception duties, including; scheduling, greeting patients and visitors, notifying staff of patient’s arrival, answering telephone and email inquiries, taking messages
Processes patient phone calls and patient registration
Performs insurance eligibility verification and referral processing
Collaborates with staff on a daily basis and works as a team member
Supports therapists in care of patients as needed
Maintains a clean and organized office and supervises upkeep of the office facilities, equipment and supplies
Maintains and organizes confidential patient information, records, and accounts
Creates invoices and processes patient payments, insurance claims, and insurance payments
Copies/distributes records to families, doctors, and other parties involved

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Experience and Education: - High School Diploma
At least one year of experience providing customer service in a medical front office, to include appointment scheduling, managing patient phone calls, and performing insurance eligibility verification
Multi-line telephone experience is required.
At least one year of experience in the following areas preferred: CPT Coding and ICD-10 
Qualifications: - Knowledge of HIPAA Compliance
An understanding of medical terminology 
Knowledge of the insurance billing process 
CPT/ICD-10 coding knowledge 
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Social media knowledge/skills
Demonstrated excellent professional interpersonal skills over the phone and in person
Attention to detail and confidentiality of information
Ability to meet deadlines, set priorities, manage multiple projects and tasks
Initiative and thoughtful decision-making skills and ability to make independent decisions and to take independent actions
Demonstrated skill in word processing and familiarity with MS Word and Excel
Comfortable working with a computerized scheduling/EMR system
Must work well in a fast paced, team oriented environment

Additional Information

Pay rate: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
